Skopje, Republic of Macedonia
Skopje region is the most important economic, social and political region in the country. It has above 800,000 inhabitants, which represents approximately 30% of the total population of the Republic of Macedonia.
The capital town Skopje has many important institutions, including all of the highest state offices and foreign embassies, etc. Skopje is seat of the Government and all the ministries of the Republic of Macedonia as well as the Supreme Court and central Bank.
The city hosts international fairs, and is also an important academic centre and centre of sciences.
It has one state-owned university with 21 faculties and 10 private faculties. There are 7 ICT faculties in Skopje and 4 more in the rest of the country.
