Foshan Creative Industry Park Investment & Management LTD (FCIP)
FCIP has been deemed by the Municipality of Foshan as the most important creative industry firm. The firm is also the Chairing member of the Foshan Creative Industry Association.
Since the set up of the Park in July 2007, it has so far attracted 100 enterprises in five major industries including 33 firms in industrial design and advertisement design, 29 firms in the software industry, 15 firms being ceramics R&D divisions or headquarters, 7 firms in the RFID industry, 5 firms in financial services, 11 firms in intermediary services or other services.
The major economic impact produced by the Park can be summarized as below:
- Labor force composition has shifted from predominantly blue-color to some 2000 whithe-collar employees.
- Tax paid by hosted firms: While it was 20 million RMB in 2007, it is estimated to exceed 200 million RMB by all firms occupying the Park in 2008.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
A great deal of industrial cluster-based R&D is going on, but mainly at enterprise level without as much intra or inter sector collaboration. The region is China's manufacturing power house with global fame. It has been designated by the province to be a hi-tech financial center in a new drive for upgrading the industrial make up of the city and the province as well.

The city has been earnest in promoting new businesses. FCIP can be viewed as one such example to provide a platform for certain types of new businesses.

FCIP itself holds many region wide creative industry events. One case in point is the onging Sino-Korean-Japanese trilateral fair. The city also has been the location for nation-wide or provincial level logistics, ceramics, and some light industry fairs. In the adjacent Guangzhou, the world renowned China Im-Ex Fair is held twice a year in addition to many other events.

- Number of IPR (i.e. trade mark, patent) has increased drastically: from only ten in 2007 to 916 in 2008.

1. The RFID industry:
- Created a RFID demonstration centre, the biggest ever in Asia;
- Attracted 6 RFID enterprises with a dozen more to come as planned, and the Park is on target to become a headquarter base for RFID firms.
2. The Software industry:
- Officially designated as the Guangdong Provincial Software Industry Park;
- Attracted more than 20 software enterprises, and the number is expected to triple, and the Park is thus on target to become a headquarter base for software firms.
- Well connected with local government:
- Chancheng District government has established an Innovation Industry Steering Committee consisting of its top leadership, which is responsible for supporting the development of creative industry;
- Since the Park is the leading creative outlet in Foshan city, it has a close cooperative relationship with local government, which provides support us in all aspects, such as funding and preferential policy treatments.

- Built International Pottery Art Training Centre---Ceramic art Training and Moral Education base for Primary and Middle Schools Chinese and oversea Adolescents' clay-art summer camp, and adolescents' pottery art competition, etc.

1. provide a resource sharing platform and create an interactive environment, so that entities both inside and outside the industry can benefit from each other's strengths;

Providing technical facilities:
The Park has built four platforms to serve the hosted firms:
1. Intellectual property rights protection platform:
- A nationally leading law firm has moved into the Park;
- As a way of making taking a strong and highly publicized stance, a wall for protection of IPR was built while issued the "Foshan IPR Protection Declaration";
- The Park donated 1 million RMB to establish the first IPR Protection Fund in Foshan
2. Creative industry information exchange platform:
- To hold public forums of various types;
- To hold creative competitions of national influence;
- cultivate close cooperation relationships with universities both at home and abroad
3. Business Services platform:
- Set up a Creativity Information Centre and an free admission reading room;
- To invite industry experts and intermediary agencies as advisors to offer one-on-one & one-stop services to the enterprises;

Providing infrastructual facilities
The Park has systematically built up infrastructures for hosted firms:
- Built a mass canteen, which can accommodate 2,000 people dining concurrently as well as a western cuisine restaurant and bar covering more than 2,000 m2 ;
- Built a multi-functional conference hall covering over 2,000 m2;
- Built a business exhibit centre covering 2,000 m2;
- Made substantial investment in constructing an out-door ecologic and recreative area of over 20,000 m2;
- Offering wireless network service throughout the park;
- Built a VIP reception room covering 1,000 m2;
- Built sports facilities such as basketball court;
- Providing chauffeur services, translation agency and other services.
